Affinity Duo provides an intimate acoustic experience that is planned and executed with sensitivity and finesse.  Affinity’s young professional musicians use their passion for all styles of music to provide a memorable program of polished performances. Their extensive repertoire can be tailored for all kinds
of events from private dinners to corporate functions and weddings.



Born from the new wave of Brazilian music thriving worldwide, Altija consists of some of Melbourne's finest up and coming musicians. The ensemble indulges in the rich musical landscape of Brazil playing everything from smooth Bossa Nova to fiery Choro and hip-grooving Samba.

Performing everything from Mozart to Michael Jackson; ACDC to Adele, Alto Strings have been the leading name in live string music since 1990. Alto Strings has an impeccable record of punctuality, presentation and excellent musicianship. All members are professional performers who have graced the stage with artists such as KD Lang, Katy Perry, Harry Connick Jnr and Pavarotti. 


Amati Strings is one of Melbourne’s finest chamber ensembles.  They have an extensive and impressive performance history including having performed for Danish Royalty, and with such eminent artist such as Sir Cliff Richards, John Farnham, Kate Ceberano, Lior, Midnight Oil, ELO and Olivia Newton John. 

Their sound is an exquisite interplay of instruments, finely layered and sensitively balanced.  Whether they perform as background to your event or as a feature act, Amati Strings will delight, enthral, captivate and move your audience.


Accomplished musicians, Erin Kersing (flute) and Ella Blackburn (piano) have been performing together as Asteria Duo for several years.  The duo focus on the exquisite and exulted sounds of early twentieth century French music such as Faure, Ganne, Satie and Debussy.  Perfect for intimate events and  special occasions, their repertoire is well known and delightful.

The duos extensive experience as solo and chamber musicians means their repertoire can be adapted to suit any affair.  Both members hold a Bachelor of Music, and are completing a Master of Music at MCM.

The members of Callisto are passionate about chamber music and bring this love and energy to every one of their performances.

CELLO SQUARED - Currently Touring Overseas

Cellists Joanna and Josh have been playing in ensembles together since 2004 and performing as a duo since 2012 in a variety of settings such as weddings, private events and other functions. Their versatile repertoire complemented by the naturally warm, blended sound of the cello is sure to lift all occasions.


The Darcy String Quartet is a vivacious chamber ensemble bringing elegance and finesse to your wedding or event. From sharing stages at home and abroad with world-class orchestras and opera singers, to appearing live with stars such as Ben Folds, Eddie Perfect, and Jessica Mauboy, the quartet's fluency in classical, jazz and popular genres make them ideally suited to complement your special occasion.

DUPLET - 双  Currently Touring (not taking bookings)

Formed in 2013, Duplet is a duo consisting of classical guitarist Yunjia Liu and koto (Japanese Harp) player Brandon Lee. They first met while they are both pursuing their music dreams in university. The character “双” means “double” or “a pair” in both Chinese and Japanese, which signifies the pairing of koto and classical guitar, two stringed instruments. Being from two different musical backgrounds, their goal is to bridge the gap between Eastern and Western Music.


The Eamon and Dudi Project are a Melbourne-based guitar duo inspired by the musical culture of Latin America. Both are graduates of the MCM and hail from dynamic musical backgrounds. Together their performance of primarily Brazilian repertoire reflects a fusion of South American Jazz and classical guitar; an exciting and impressive accompaniment to your event. The duo can also add percussion and double bass upon request.



The Élan combines a youthful energy with a musical maturity beyond their years. Members of the quartet were awarded the 1999 Athanaeum Chamber Music Prize, invited to tour London and Wales and performed in the 1999 Collins Street Chamber Music Festival. Recently, the quartet performed with the internationally renowned guitarist Slava Gregorian at the Melbourne Concert Hall and at the opening of the L'Oreal Melbourne Fashion Festival.

Erica and Tristan began playing together at the VCA, and have been working as a flute and guitar duet for several years.  They take pride in their musical flexibility, with repertoire ranging from fiery tangos, South American inspired works, beautiful Classical pieces and suites, and a collection of contemporary Australian works.  They are also more than happy to arrange specific song requests (even pop!).


The Kim Falconer Ensemble are an elegant and refined guitar and flute group comprising of Melbourne Conservatorium of Melbourne students Julia Bakowski, Kim Falconer and Olivia Hally.  The duo - trio perform a range of exciting repertoire including Argentinean Tangos and contemporary works and in early 2012 premiered ‘The Riddle’ by Piotr Nowotnik.   


With an impeccable musical pedigree, the Lucca String Ensemble combines professionalism and artistic excellence to bring a touch of class to any event. Members of the ensemble have studied at the Royal Academy of Music, London, toured Spain with the London Chamber Players, performed with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra Victoria, and been awarded numerous scholarships and awards for their outstanding musicianship and performance skills.


Melbourne Harp Music explore some of the greatest music written for small ensembles, as well as introducing dynamic new Australian works with the delightful instrumentation of harp, flute, piano and strings.  Perfect for an intimate wedding or as soothing background music MHM are a truly unique ensemble.

Formed in 2012, Melbourne Harp & Voice is comprised of musicians Deon Ning (harp) and Joanna Patócs (mezzo-soprano). As a duo, they perform regularly in concerts, at corporate events and weddings and has performed at the Melbourne Music Week, the National Mainstreet conference and toured to regional Victoria. Their versatile playing covers a variety of musical genres including art song, opera, folk and popular music. With a strong presence and diverse repertoire, this duo adds an impressive touch to any event.


Pure Silver musicians are highly experienced and internationally trained professionals. They have performed with Orchestra Victoria, Australian Pops Orchestra, Melbourne Opera, South Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, the Victorian Concert Orchestra and the Grainger Wind Symphony, amongst others. Pure Silver Flutes creates a unique and magical atmosphere to make any occasion distinctive and special - allow the ethereal tones to enhance your event with music of elegance and style.


Rubytrings is a group of Melbourne’s finest string players – fresh, fun and internationally experienced. As freelance musicians, their studies and performance work has taken them around Australia and across the globe. Rubystrings repertoire ranges from classical, to jazz, to tango, to pop – they can arrange any piece you’d like. Rubystrings will provide the perfect musical accompaniment to your wedding, corporate/private event or recording session.


Silo can play sexy, gritty sounds, driving rhythms and ethereal minimalism or traditional classical where required.  It is this apprach that has seen them play in concert halls as well as pubs. Founded in 1998 by cellist/composer Caerwen Martin the Silo String Quartet are seasoned professionals who actively support the creation and performance of new works for string quartets, whether it’s jazz, tango, Manchester New Wave, minimalism or avant guard.


The Southbank Quartet is a unique ensemble closely related to the string quartet, but with a flute in place of the first violin. Comprised of passionate chamber and orchestral musicians, its members have performed with  the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Youth Orchestra, Australian Youth Orchestra, The Australian International Symphony Orchestra Institute, Royal Melbourne Philharmonic Orchestra and the Queensland Youth Symphony. With a wide range of repertoire, any musical request can be accommodated. 


Cappuccino Brass was formed from the elite brass students of the VCA.  The group's performances have included concerts for the Melbourne International Brass Festival, concerts and a recording with the Australian Children's Choir, a Christmas Gala concert in the Melbourne Town Hall with a one hundred and twenty voice choir, and performances at the Portland Festival.At times a good-time crowd pleaser, at times a haunting medieval chamber ensemble, Cappuccino Brass are everything you want them to be.

DAVID SOO    Currently touring internationally

Young Australian virtuoso David Soo has been marvelled for his 'great sense of maturity and sensitivity well beyond his age.' He is a prize-winner in international competitions in France (Magin) and Malaysia (ASEAN Chopin), the Australian National Piano Award, as well as unanimously being awarded first Prize in one of Australia’s most prestigious piano competitions, the Melbourne Recital Centre Great Romantics Competition. David is heard frequently on ABC Classic FM and both 3MBS FM and 4MBS FM.

Deborah Ng studied piano performance at the MCM under the Faculty Merit Scholarship. She completed the Bachelor of Music (Honours) in 2011 and was awarded the Dean’s Medal for achieving the highest grade point average in her cohort. Deborah has performed as a concerto soloist with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and Fremantle Symphony Orchestra, and been named Starsearch Western Australian Young Performer of the Year and Keyboard Finalist in the 2009 ABC Young Performer Awards.

Deon completed her Bachelor of Music (Performance) in both harp and piano from the University of Melbourne in 2011. She has premiered and recorded new solo and orchestral Australian works. Deon performs actively and is regularly engaged for concerts and events. Besides being an active performer, Deon is a passionate music educator and has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Teaching from the University of Melbourne.



Evan Hopkins plays classical guitar.  Mesmerising, evocative, captivating classical guitar.  Evan Hopkins plays classical guitar with such dedication, such commitment, such enthralling passion that his reputation as one of Australia’s foremost classical guitarists is well deserved.   He is passionate about new Australian music, dedicated to quality performances and a pleasure to engage with.

Freya Schack-Arnott is a Melbourne based cellist dedicated to innovative performance in a variety of musical styles and settings. Freya recently completed a Bachelor of Music Performance with Honours from the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. She is currently studying under Howard Penny and Nick Bochner, and has played in master-classes with Gary Hoffman, Tilmann Wick, Dmitri Ferschtmann and Maria Kliegel.




Hannah Lane is proclaimed as one of Melbourne’s most accomplished Harpists. She is known for her agility, subtlety and her attention to colour, her dynamic control, breathtaking touch and her technical mastery. Hannah is one of the few Australian exponents of the rare baroque triple harp and the classical single action harp.



Henry has performed extensively in recitals and soirees, graduations and special events at the University High School. He has also been an accompanist for University High School’s Cantabile Choir, Junior Strings, Jazz Ensemble and Stage Band. At the Conservatorium, he has participated in numerous master classes and performance classes. He was recently awarded first prize in the Ann and Chris Krans Music Award by the Board of Dandenong Ranges Music Council.

Julia Bakowski has recently completed Honours at the MCM and in 2013 will commence her Master of Music (Music Performance) with the prestigious Australian Postgraduate Award.  She has been a member of numerous finals-ranking ensembles in the Melbourne University Alumni Chamber Music Prize, and was awarded the President’s Encouragement Award at the 2011 Classical Guitar Society of Victoria Members Guitar Competition.  Julia has performed at venues such as the Grant St Theatre and Melba Hall and has played live on 3MBS FM’s ‘Live at the Convent’.

Pianist John Young completed a Bachelor of Music Performance (Honours) in 2012 and is currently doing the Masters of Music Performance teaching at Melbourne University. John loves sharing his music with others and has performed extensively as a soloist, accompanist and chamber artist, including solo performance live on radio. His repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary and pop. 


Julian Scheffer plays the Brazilian 7 string guitar and performs solo guitar repertoire from Brazil, Argentina and Europe. His latest solo release, an EP called ‘Una Guitarra Solamente’ is a collection of original and collected works. He studied with Doug de Vries for many years in Melbourne and has travelled to Brazil to do research for an honours thesis and to immerse himself in to the music. Julian spent 2 years living abroad in the Netherlands working as a musician, where he played with the samba group, Momento So, renowned Brazilian musician, Nelson Latif and performed as a soloist.

KATHY CHOW - Piano   

Kathy recently completed her a Bachelor of Music (Honours) with distinction at the University of Melbourne, studying Piano Performance with Glenn Riddle.  She has been chosen to participate in masterclasses by international concert pianists including Joanna McGregor and Steven Osborne, and has performed extensively throughout Melbourne at venues including the Melbourne Recital Centre, Iwaki Auditorium, South Melbourne Town Hall (ANAM), Hawthorn Arts Centre, and the Government Ballroom House. Performance highlights include performing Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No.2 with the Zelman Memorial Symphony, and being selected to perform at the State Library of Victoria for the art installation ‘Stop Repair Prepare: Variations on Ode to Joy’ for prepared piano by international artists Allora & Calzadilla.

Flautist Kim Falconer plays an extensive range of repertoire including Renaissance through to Romantic, and Contemporary through to Jazz.  She holds positions with the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music Symphony Orchestra and Wind Symphony and is currently the Associate Principal flautist of the Melbourne Youth Orchestra and was winner of The Leslie Barklamb Flute Scholarship.


Laverne Oh's performances impress audiences with wonderful singing lines, a warm sound and uniquely creative flair.  She continually brings inspired, thought-provoking and engaging ideas to the fore for audiences to enjoy.  Having had a decade of performing experience behind her in both Korea and Australia, Laverne’s plays an ever wide-ranging repertoire from Baroque to Contemporary Music and from Easy Listening to Jazz.

Ling Ling Chen has an extensive repertoire covering all major periods of music from Baroque through to contemporary music and brings sensitivitiy, flair and eloquence to her music making.  Her performance highlights include Beethoven’s 2nd Piano Concerto and Ravel’s G major Concerto with the Preston Symphony Orchestra, Beethoven’s Triple Concerto with the VCA Secondary School Symphony Orchestra, and performing at the Recital Centre for Top Class having achieved the raw score of 50 for VCE Music Investigation.


It is a delight to listen to the sparking sounds of the harp as played by Melina van Leeuwen.  With a prestigious performance history and significant awards, Melina is celebrated for her gentle flowing style, her crystal clear playing, her musicality and her verve.   Perfect for weddings, events of a solemn nature, corporate functions, lunches, as background music and wherever the ethereal sounds of harp will add pleasure and enjoyment to events.

Masters graduate Megan has been performing professionally on the harp for over a decade and been fortunate enough to perform with a diverse range of musical ensembles, from the Melbourne Symphony and Chamber Music Australia through to touring with Jose Carreras and the Australian Philharmonic Orchestra and her own chamber group the Miscellany Ensemble.  She has recently performed with Grammy award winning artist Kanye West and appeared on ABC TV’s Spicks and Specks.

Michael MacManus is a current Honours student who recently won the open category in Victoria’s most prestigious guitar competition, the “Sadie Award”, hosted by the Classical Guitar Society of Victoria (CGSV). He plays music from the Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th Century and Modern periods as well as lively Spanish dances, and beautiful arrangements of popular movie themes and old favourites.  A seasoned performer, Michael has played at venues such as Melba Hall and Montsalvat along with live radio broadcasts with the CGSV.


Olivia began performing at the age of 8 and is now a graduate of the Victorian College of the Arts Secondary School (VCASS) and University of Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. Olivia’s chamber music abilities have been acknowledged as a finalist of the University of Melbourne Chamber Music Competition (2010 & 2012) and winner of VCASS’ Chamber Music Prize in 2009. She has also performed as a soloist and chamber musician on 3MBS FM and with the folk-pop project, Oh Pep! on Radio National, 3RRR, PBS FM, and Triple J.


Rose Zhang is a recent graduate at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. The Melbourne-based pianist has performed nationally and internationally in Sydney, Tasmania, Thailand, Korea and China.  She has recorded with radio stations 3MBS FM as well as Fine Music 102.5 FM as part of the Allison Henderson Piano Scholarship. At age 12, 2006, she completed her Licentiate Diploma and shortly after made her concerto debut with the Preston Symphony Orchestra. Rose has given recitals for the Australian Catholic University, the National Gallery of Victoria Lunch-hour series, Music Lovers’ Society as well as the Musical Society of Victoria.


Yunjia is an exquisite classical guitarist.  With an emphasis on texture and tone, her melodies and rhythms swell and resonate and her music is characterized by her expressive and delicate playing.  Yunjia’s repertoire varies from expansive classical music to Celtic finger-style as well as Chinese and Western folk songs.  Yunjia is a perfect choice for conferences, celebrations and parties, whether it be background music or as a feature performance.

It is her passion for the piano that defines Yiyun Gu.  Her performances are luminous and delicately shaded, her technique superb, and her mastery of subtle emotions and telling details outstanding for one so young.  With an extensive performance history Yiyun is a superb choice for corporates, significant events, major recitals and house parties.  Whether you need solemn reflective music or celebratory joy, Yiyun’s beguiling sense of style, her versatility and her choice of repertoire is always judicious and enjoyable.

Romanian born Alexandra Ioan is currently completing her Masters in Performance at MCM under Ms Anna Connolly. After graduating from the University of Auckland, New Zealand Alexandra worked as an Emerging Artist for the NBR New Zealand Opera where she sang the role of Barbarina in their 2010 production of the Marrige of Figaro. She has won the NZ Auckland, Christchurch and Nelson aria competitions, as well as being a finalist in the Rotorua Aria Competition. Her operatic roles include Adina, The Elixir of love (Class Act Opera schools tour), Miss Wordsworth, Albert Herring (University of Auckland School of Music) and Sister Genevieve, Suor Angelica (Auckland Opera Factory).


Cristina Russo is a versatile soprano with an impressive repertoire ranging from  Bach’s St Matthew Passion, Handel’s Messiah, Mozart’s Requiem Mass in D Minor (K.626), Mendelssohn’s St Paul, Vivaldi Mass RV 588, Fauré’s Requiem and Zelenka’s ZWV 12 Missa Divi Xaverii to name a few.  Her significant performance background including her work with the Victorian Opera enables Cristina to craft wonderful and moving performances suitable for significant life events including wedding ceremonies, anniversaries, house parties, funerals and short features.

SERENADE VOICES - DuoSerenade Voices

Serenade Voices are an exquisite vocal duo with an extensive repertoire spanning traditional opera to contemporary rock tunes.  These highly trained and talented musicians graduated with honours from The Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne and have been entertaining and delighting Melbourne audiences at weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, special occasions and festivals ever since.



Tenor Leighton Triplow is known for his beautifully polished and even sound, his exquisite phrasing, vocal agility and his musical intelligence.  Possessing a wealth of performance experience and versatile repertoire spanning Baroque and contemporary music, his voice is well suited to corporate events, private functions and weddings.


Teresa Duddy completed her Bachelor of Music at the University of Melbourne in 2009 and since then has enjoyed an extensive national and international career performing roles with Victorian Opera, Chamber Made Opera, Melbourne Philharmonic Choir, Savoy Opera, the Chicago College of Performing Arts Orchestra, Lyric Opera Studio of Weimar (Germany) and Lyric Opera of Chicago. She has been a finalist for the Acclaim Awards and recently joined Opera Australia in their production of Rogers & Hammerstein’s The King and I in the role of Lady Thiang.



Delighting audiences around the world, Baritone Kendrew Amir Heriveaux has performed with the Brooklyn College Opera Theater in L'enfant et les sortileges, the Brooklyn Contemporary Chorus in their African-American Experience Concert Series, and featured as bariton soloist in Handel's Messiah with the Brooklyn Contemporary Chorus. A lover of new works, Mr. Heriveaux premiered the role of Joshua in J. Lanye’s opera Highway to Canaan and was a soloist with the Nathaniel Dett Chorale in their premiere of Sydney Guillaume’s Ayiti I-II-III.  Most notably he appeared with the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra on the PBS televised presentation of Video Games Live performing “Baba Yetu,” the Grammy-winning song by Christopher Tin.
