Launch of 'Bach's Tonal Soundscape'

20 Mar 2017, 6:30pm - 8:30pm

'Bach's Tonal Sounscape' is the first recording of the complete 48 Preludes and Fugues by an Australian pianist which reorders this iconic repertoire in a unique way, allowing listeners and future performers new insight into Bach’s creative approach to the tonal system beyond the established two volume taxonomy.

Conducted by Professor Warren Bebbington, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Adelaide and former Dean of Music and Ormond Chair at the University of Melbourne, the launch will also involve a presentation by Professor Ian Holtham on the details of the project and he will perform a number of the preludes and fugues.
