This continuing series - focused on the emblematic instrument of our time – continues with a double-bill of symphonies by the unique New York composer Glenn Branca , both of which will be heard for the first time in Australia. Branca is renowned for his large scale works for massed electric guitars and percussion and his pieces mix drones, and industrial-scale noise with microtonallity , mysticism and advanced mathematical processes,as well as a fascination with the harmonic series.

Subtitled "The Mystery" and "The Mystery Pt. 2," these two symphonies concern themselves with the big issues: Life and Death. They are both in two movements and are scored for eight guitars, two basses, keyboard, drums, vocal and two conductors.
