Australian International Documentary Conference

Master of Documentary Students engagement with Australian International Documentary Conference (AIDC) DocWeek 2013.

Global Creators Collaboration

Specialized global music and design projects in partnership with the VCA and NYU.

The Diamond Tapestry Project: Weaving Possibilities through Art

Bringing together the VCA, the Royal Botanic Gardens, the Australian Tapestry Workshop and the Prince's School of Traditional Arts, London, The Diamond Tapestry Project highlights the importance of collaboration between artists from different disciplines, and the engagement of children within the arts.

Many Cultures - Many Voices

The Centre for Cultural Partnerships (CCP) is undertaking the Many Voices - Many Cultures program (2013-2014) with Debney Meadows Primary School and Richmond West Primary School. These schools have been chosen as their school population has a high percentage of refugee & new arrival community children. The school and community-based arts and cultural learning activities are creating opportunity to learn, share and celebrate the diversity of many cultures.

Rising: the Victoria Harbour Young Artists Initiative

As part of the Docklands Public Art Program, this unique project in partnership with the School of Art’s Sculpture and Spatial Practice program provided a valuable platform and opportunity for young artists at the commencement of their careers, to experience the challenges and rewards of developing and exhibiting art for public spaces.

Transdisciplinary Imaging Conference 2012

Hosted by the VCA, the Transdisciplinary Imaging Conference took place over two stimulating days with acclaimed professionals including curators, historians, creative arts practitioners, critics and theorists exploring transdisciplinary imaging. 

VCA 40th Sessions

A recording project documenting and promoting contributions (past and present) from VCA Contemporary Music to the global music community.

Alexander Technique & the Performing Arts Conference

 The ATPA Conference is designed to advance the knowledge, methodology and innovation in the teaching and practice of the Alexander Technique. Its specific aim is to integrate the technique into ongoing training curricula and to support emerging as well as established performers.

Advanced Cinematography mentoring from Laszlo Baranyai (Hungary)

Mentoring provided on-set advice and demonstrations of advanced industry approaches to lighting, movement of camera, composition, visual storytelling and film language.

VCA Clickers

VCA Clickers is a film society for VCA students and staff. The project is the outcome of the ongoing collaboration between the VCA School of Film and Television and one of Victoria’s oldest and liveliest film societies, Moggs Creek Moving Clickers, who also sponsor the annual Kickalong Award to help an outstanding VCA student with post-production and marketing costs.

VCA Publications Pilot Project

The project provides high quality editorial support for academic staff and graduate researchers and identifies high quality publishing opportunities appropriate for the School of Art Historical Archive (including NGV Bea Maddock Exhibition), Writing @ VCA and VCA Art Publication Pilot.

Kaldor Public Art Project #26

For the 26th Kaldor Public Art Project in Australia, internationally renowned artist duo Jennifer Allora and Guillermo Calzadilla presented the celebrated project Stop, Repair, Prepare: Variations on 'Ode to Joy' for a Prepared Piano in the State Library of Victoria’s Cowen Gallery. Presented to great acclaim at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, Stop, Repair, Prepare combined sound, performance and sculpture, proving a captivating new experience for audiences.

Australian/Indian Cultural Exchange Program

As part of OZ Fest, the biggest Australian cultural festival ever held in India, Seven Art in Association with Margaret Lawrence Gallery, Victorian College of the Arts (The University of Melbourne), this exhibition was the first instalment in a new cultural exchange project curated by Vikki McInnes, Director of the Margaret Lawrence Gallery.

The Solo Projects

The Russian Project brought together new photographic, sculptural and video works by Laresa Kosloff that were inspired by her travels across Russia and Siberia as part of the Jane Scally Artist Award.
